Family stories

Every story here was shared by a family who brought home one of our puppies, and is published with their permission.

A Thoughtful Breeder Experience

What stood out to us was that the process didn’t feel like simply choosing a puppy and leaving. We were encouraged to think about temperament, lifestyle, and the responsibility involved. We appreciated that approach and would recommend Little Alpine Berners to families doing their research.

Our Son Learned Responsibility

One reason we considered a puppy was to give our older son more responsibility. He helps with feeding, training, and keeping track of puppy supplies. Of course, the adults are ultimately responsible, but watching him take his role seriously has been rewarding.

A Great Experience From Start to Finish

Communication mattered to us because choosing a puppy is a significant commitment. We appreciated being able to ask questions and understand what to expect. Little Alpine Berners was straightforward with us, and we never felt rushed. Our puppy has been a joy.

The Sweetest Welcome Home

No matter how long we’ve been gone, our puppy acts like our return is the best thing that has happened all day. The tail wag starts immediately. Coming home feels a little better now.

A New Chapter for Us

After retirement, we finally had the time we wanted to devote to another dog. Our puppy has given us a reason to get outside every day and has brought plenty of entertainment into our routine. Little Alpine Berners made the process comfortable and uncomplicated.

Better Than We Imagined

We spent months researching before choosing a puppy. Pictures are one thing, but personality matters much more once a dog is actually living in your home. Our puppy has turned out to be affectionate, funny, and eager to be involved with the family. We’re very pleased.

A Puppy With Personality

Our puppy is sweet, curious, and just mischievous enough to keep us laughing. She’ll carry a sock through the house like she has discovered buried treasure. Then five minutes later she’s curled up beside us looking completely innocent. We wouldn’t change her personality for anything.

Always in the Middle of Everything

Our puppy has serious fear of missing out. If someone opens a cabinet, she needs to investigate. If the kids start playing, she joins them. If we sit down for a movie, she finds a spot nearby. She makes ordinary family moments a little more entertaining.

The Dog Dad Who Didn't Want a Dog

My husband said repeatedly that the puppy was going to be “my dog.” That lasted approximately three days. Now he’s the one checking whether we packed treats before leaving the house and letting her sit beside him on the couch. The rest of us find this very entertaining.

A Great Fit for Our Busy Family

With three children, school activities, and work, our house is rarely quiet. Somehow our puppy fits right into the middle of it. She’ll play with the kids outside and then curl up for a nap while everyone does homework. We wanted a family-oriented dog, and she has certainly become one.

Our Daughter's Best Friend

We originally thought the puppy would be everybody’s dog, but he clearly chose our daughter. He waits outside her bedroom in the morning and follows her everywhere after school. Watching their friendship develop has probably been our favorite part of bringing him home. We’re very thankful to Little Alpine Berners for helping us find such a good match.

Worth the Wait

Our family had been looking for the right puppy for quite a while. We didn’t want to rush into anything, especially with young children at home. When we found Little Alpine Berners, we felt comfortable asking questions and taking our time. Our little guy has been wonderful with the kids and has fit into our routine better than we expected.

Our Little Shadow

Our puppy has quickly become my little shadow. Whether I’m making breakfast, folding laundry, or working around the house, he is usually somewhere nearby. He’s playful without being overwhelming and incredibly affectionate. We appreciated how easy it was to communicate with Little Alpine Berners and how comfortable we felt throughout the process.

The Puppy We Had Been Waiting For

We had talked about adding a dog to our family for almost two years before finally deciding on a Miniature Bernese Mountain Dog. Our puppy from Little Alpine Berners has been such a sweet addition. She loves following the kids around the house and settles right beside us when the day winds down. The whole experience felt personal and straightforward. We would happily recommend Little Alpine Berners to another family looking for this breed.
